We have umpteen numbers of cities all around the world. Some are newly constructed, some are years old and few are centuries old. We call them Ancient cities. They are enthralling with their framework and lifestyles of ancient people had more sense than us. Petra is one of the ancient cities now located at Jordan, an Arab country. In Greek, Petra means Cleft in the rock, and is highly renowned for its rock architecture.
The city was discovered only in 1812 by a Swiss explorer and is described as “ a rose-red city half as old as time” in a sonnet
