Asimov wrote this short story when he was barely nineteen. Being a budding writer he did have his own traumatic experience in getting it published. The world took notice of him after this story got published and acknowledged him as the greatest science fiction writer of all times. The story unfolds in a planet with nine suns shinning over it all the time and the night occurs only once in 2000 years—when all the suns go into eclipse and the people of the planet get to see the grandeur of stars for the first time! They go mad unable to digest this strange phenomenon—of night!
